DESCRIPTION:South Coast Winery’s annual Blessing of the Vines includes a food-and-wine pairing hosted by the Carter family\, executive chef\, head winemaker and their teams. The event begins with a welcome glass of sparkling wine and a production tour\, followed by a four-course\, wine-paired dinner with live guitar music. The menu opens with Caviar Beignet Puffs paired with Sparkling Brut. Family-style starters are paired with 2024 Vineyard Rosé and 2024 GVR and include Red Wine–Poached Pear Salad with arugula & frisée\, goat cheese crumble\, Marcona almonds and tarragon vinaigrette; and Cantaloupe & Prosciutto with bocconcini\, almond–walnut crumble and port wine dressing. Main courses are paired with five 2021 Wild Horse Peak Cabernet Sauvignons:4-Block Blend\, Devil’s Block\, Dry Rock Gulch\, Thunderbolt and Sandy Bottom. Entrées include Rosemary-Spiced Pork Tenderloin with braised fennel\, green olives\, creamed sweet corn; Roasted & Sliced New York Steak with red wine reduction\, roasted fingerling potatoes and grilled seasonal vegetables; and Portobello Mushroom Bourguignon (Vegetarian) with garlic-confit mashed potatoes and glazed baby carrots. Desserts are paired with Black Jack Port and Late Harvest Gewürztraminer. Selections include Tiramisu\, Lemon Tart\, Rum Cake Crumble with coconut cream\, Tarte Tatin\, Artisan Cheese Selection and Chocolate Cake.
