In San Diego, summer starts at the San Diego County Fair! Going strong since 1880, the Fair is the largest and longest-running event in the county. The Del Mar Fairgrounds has hosted the annual Fair since 1936.
Purchase your tickets online in advance to save on admission and parking. You can also visit the San Diego County Fair on Wednesday or Thursday to save even more on admission.

Fairgoers will bop their way around the happy days of the ‘50s; twist, shout, and shake it into the bewitching ‘60s; move and groove through the disco nights of the ‘70s; moonwalk it back to the gnarly age of big hair, shoulder pads, and parachute pants of the ‘80s; and enjoy the era of flannel and floppy drives of the ‘90s.
