FACT : Pineapple Does Belong on Pizza

2

If you’re like me and find pumpkin to smell (and I assume taste) like cat food then there’s another reason to celebrate the start of the Fall season. October is National Pizza Month. Officially. Also, it’s National Vegetarian Awareness Month. As a lover of pizza and as a vegetarian, I am celebrating by sharing my favorite pizza recipe. Enjoy!

The Venice Bakery pizza dough, cheese and produce can be found at Sprouts Farmers Market.  Trader Joe’s carries a great pizza sauce.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 20 minutes

Start by cutting the pineapple, peppers and spinach. The pineapple should be cut into thin slices, the jalapeno pepper diced and the spinach can be left whole or cut up, whatever you prefer. If you like spicy, leave the vein and seeds in the pepper. If you like a more mild taste, take those out.

Next, grease a cookie sheet & pre-heat the oven to 400 degrees.

Stretch out the dough and spread it out on the greased cookie sheet.

Spread the pizza sauce out across the dough. Sprinkle with garlic powder and a thin layer of cheese.  Top with spinach, jalapeno, pineapple and cheese.

Slide it into the oven for 20 minutes & you’ll have a delicious instagram worthy pizza!
