You’ve Been Booed! Get into the Halloween Spirit

0

There is nothing more fun than finding a bucket of Halloween treats at your door and knowing that one of your neighbors was thinking of your family when they bought them. It sure makes you feel special! I’ve never been “booed” before, but now that I have I can’t wait to make it a Halloween tradition! There’s no going back now….

you've been booed - get into the Halloween spirit

If you haven’t been “booed” before or don’t even know what it is, it’s basically like the old school chain letter that gets passed on from neighbor to neighbor. But in this case, it comes in an adorable bucket of Halloween goodies and you don’t know who it’s from.

We’ve Been Booed

Attached to the bag or bucket of goodies is a note that instructs you to put up a sign “We’ve Been Booed” on your front door or window. This instructs other neighbors that you’ve already participated in the game, and that they should give their gift to someone else. Adorable!

Then, it’s your turn to buy some goodies for a special friend or neighbor and drop it off secretly at their house along with a copy of the sign, “You’ve Been Booed!” Ring the doorbell and run –  half the fun is guessing who “booed” you.

Filling Your Boo Bucket

It’s your turn to fill the Boo Bucket! Here are some fun ideas to put in your Halloween gift basket, and no doubt a trip to the Dollar Tree, Target or Michaels will fill it in no time.

  • Baked goods
  • Cupcake/cookie mix
  • Glow sticks
  • Halloween candy
  • Socks
  • Stickers
  • Door decoration
  • Mini pumpkins to decorate
  • Headbands
  • Cups/water bottle
  • Mini flashlight
  • Pencils
  • Vampire teeth
  • Pack of spiderwebs

Just for the Moms

What I especially loved about our Boo Bucket was that there was “Booze” in it as well! Haha–A fun bottle of wine is the perfect gift for a hard-working mommy. Or another idea could be a 6-pack of Oktoberfest beer or a Pumpkin Ale.

If you have the time, you can print off extra copies of the signs so that it is easy for others to pass it on without having to print their own. At least one copy of each is required, but it sure makes things faster if you can just grab and go!

Have fun getting into the Halloween spirit with this You’ve Been Booed tradition!
