The right education can open doors, but a well-rounded Christian education can open a child’s future. Just ask Betsy Larson, a mother of four and former teacher. She writes about her experience at St. Paul’s Lutheran School:
“Living in La Jolla and deciding on where to send our children to school, we had an array of private school options to choose from and we ultimately chose St. Paul’s Lutheran School. Once we toured the campus and our children completed their first day, we immediately felt at home and part of a larger community of friends.
With small class sizes, our daughter and son were challenged and had ample one on one time with the teacher. This individual attention isn’t something you find in most schools and we saw first-hand the impact it had on their academics.
Incidentally, every child is important at St. Paul’s and this is evident not only in how the staff interacts with the students but also how they collaborate with their classmates. There is a climate of kindness that emanates throughout campus, specifically when the younger students are paired with an older student as part of their chapel buddy program. The young ones look up to their older counterparts who take them under their wing and act as role model and friend throughout the year.
The academic instruction is rigorous and rich, focusing on each child as an individual, where everyone is encouraged to participate and share ideas. We saw our anxious daughter grow in confidence and become a leader and our son thrive in the student-centered classroom.
St. Paul’s Lutheran School is a community of families and educators working together to develop intelligent, kind and faith-filled students who love learning. When you join St. Paul’s you belong to something bigger that transcends beyond the walls of a school. It’s a special place, and I am forever grateful for the high quality academic and character education my children received.”
For over 70 years, St. Paul’s has been providing an academically challenging, fully accredited, high-quality Christian education. St. Paul’s is a preschool through 8th grade program. They offer affordable tuition, small classes, an exceptional music program, Spanish, technology, P.E., art, and before and after care is available.
Students participate in outdoor education camps, athletics, service projects, public speaking and help in the learning garden. They offer a loving community of students, teachers, and parents that value well-rounded education where social-emotional intelligence is valued as much as academic achievement. Students that attend St. Paul’s live in Pacific Beach, La Jolla, Clairemont, University City, Point Loma, Ocean Beach, Mission Valley, Serra Mesa, and more. Many military families choose St. Paul’s for their children and the school prides itself on its commitment to supporting military families.
St. Paul’s wants each child to become the unique person God designed and desires for them to be: “Achieving academic excellence in a family-oriented and faith-based learning environment where each child can become the best person they can be. Faith, Foundation, Family, is what we are known for at St. Paul’s.”
