For the past couple of months, all you hear “OMG, Summer is coming, what do you have planned?” “Are you going on a trip?” “Doing something daily with them?” “Taking them on another cruise?”(our next one is booked for next year). “Are you keeping the same schedule like school?” I have 0 plans for this summer. And I made sure to do it that way.
During the school year, EVERYTHING is planned. School functions, doctor appts, field trips, therapy appts (for my child with Aspergers), homework and so much more. Normally, every Summer we are going places and doing things. This Summer, I said it will be a relaxing and lazy Summer. It feels AMAZING to not have anything planned, and taking it day by day. And if something pops up, then we can yes or no to doing it.
We all (except hubby) are staying up late. Kinda sleeping in, lol. Waking up, doing our chores. I am still keeping my morning hours to work on my Scentsy business. After the kids have done their chores: *clean room, empty dishwasher, trash out, wipe down bathroom*, then they have to read for 30-45 minutes. Then the rest of the day is theirs.
They are watching Netflix or YouTube, playing on the phones and tablets. We make sure to have time outside, we even played Water Pass yesterday, and the video was amazing??. We paint or play a board game, but we LOVE playing Heads Up. It gets the kids thinking. At night when me and hubby go to our room. If their room is cleaned, then they can take turns playing the Xbox, for 20 minutes each, then switch.
So here’s to a relaxing and lazy Summer, with no regrets. We are enjoying our time together, with no plans. I am letting them be kids and enjoying time to just to be still. And yes, they are going to eat us out of house and home. But Costco is our friend.
