Pamper Yourself {Spa Day} For Mother’s Day, You Deserve it!

1

I don’t know about you, but with Mother’s Day upon us, I get excited at the thought of a day of pampering or even a weekend all to myself, which is sometimes tricky with six kids. Granted, for most of us mommas, sleeping in is almost impossible, let alone being pampered on Mother’s Day.

It is supposed to be about us anyway, but taking a little time for ourselves to refresh and rejuvenate is an absolute must and works wonders in helping us feel a little more human, and parent a little better. If you’re blessed with the opportunity this Mother’s Day to be treated to a spa day or any spa service, then take advantage of the opportunity to get away and enjoy yourself.

But even if visiting a spa or salon is not an option right now, there are still ways to pamper yourself a little at home. Just pour your favorite beverage, grab some chocolate, put on relaxing music and light some candles or diffuse your favorite oils while spoiling yourself and try some of these home treatments:

Face Mask – These can be purchased at any drugstore or cosmetic store, just grab one based on your skin type and skin needs. You can also whip up a face mask at home using all natural and yummy ingredients such as oatmeal, honey or avocado.

Here’s a quick recipe:

1/2 cup hot (not boiled) water

1/3 cup oatmeal

2 tbsp plain yogurt (optional)

2 tbsp honey

1 egg white

*Combine the water and oatmeal. Let the oatmeal rest for 3 mins, then add the other ingredients and mix together. Apply a thin layer of mask to your face and let it sit for 15 mins. Rinse and moisturize.

Mini Mani/Pedi – A coat of polish can work wonders in putting a little extra pep in our step. Use a cuticle pusher to push back cuticles, buff and file your nails to remove excess oils and shape your nails and polish away! You can even try nail adhesives such as Jamberry or press on nails (KISS Acrylic or natural are my favorite, easy to apply and can be found at most drugstores).

Bubble Bath – Toss in a cup of Epsom salts or a bath bomb fizzy, some bath oil and your favorite bubble bath. Soak, relax and enjoy.

Body Scrub – Excellent at exfoliating the skin and revealing soft, glowy skin from head to toe, they’re also easy to make and make great gifts; I made these for my last baby shower as favors and they were a huge hit.

Try my loved recipe below:

 1 cup sea salt

 2-6 drops lavender essential oil

 1 cup grapeseed oil

*Mix all ingredients together and place in a cute jar of your choice. You can use any essential oil you desire (I personally love lavender, mint, and jasmine). You can also substitute the sea salt for granulated sugar.

SPA ESCAPES

If you’re looking for a few amazing spas to visit or looking to give a spa experience as a gift to a momma friend or even your own mom, check out a few of my tried and favorite spas:

Revive Day Spa – Awesome massage therapist and experience. The ambiance of the spa really sets the tone for relaxation and overall tranquility.

Revive Salon & Spa – A full-service salon and spa offering everything from their jaw-dropping hair studio to the cosmetic bar, med spa, packages and special occasions and the spa itself. Short on time? You can even have an express facial, which is 30 minutes of pure bliss.

Massage Envy – There are numerous locations and they are now offering facials as well as massage at all locations. Santee Trolley Square Town Center is my personal favorite.

Glen Ivy Spa – For the ultimate spa experience to end all spa experiences, visit this incredible spa resort and be prepared for a mind-blowing day of pampering, rejuvenation, relaxation, and fun.

Bellus Academy (Poway, CA) – Yes, this is a beauty school, but don’t let that discourage you from going. The great thing about beauty school is that services are a fraction of the cost vs an upscale spa/salon, and the students are highly and well trained, resulting in a relaxing, professional and awesome service and experience.

Marie Monet European Skin Care and Spa – Nestled in downtown La Mesa, this quiet and quaint spa offers an array of services and skin care. The owner Marie has been a licensed esthetician for 35 years, and is always learning the newest and latest skincare techniques and goes above and beyond in providing excellent service and maintaining relationships with clients.

Groupon – If searching for a spa near you or a specific location, also check Groupon. They have many options and offer amazing deals.

I hope everyone has a fun-filled, beauty-filled, relaxing Mother’s Day! Stay beautiful ♥
