By now, we have all heard about what is happening in the South. At least 37 people are dead and 100 million are without power as multiple powerful storm systems bring record-breaking cold weather, snow, and freezing rain to the south-central U.S. and portions of the East Coast.
In states not accustomed to this weather, the conditions have forced rolling blackouts and frequent outages. Millions are being told to boil water before they drink it, but lack the electricity and gas services to do so. The images are heartbreaking; families sleeping in their cars for warmth, mothers burning clothing in fireplaces to generate heat. We may very well be looking at the beginnings of a mass humanitarian crisis.
That’s why we’ve put this resource list together below. Share it with friends and donate to organizations with boots on the ground, delivering everything from bottled water to blankets and generators. Roads are impassible and many stores are closed, so this is the best way to assist the needy. These people need our help; so let’s make a difference!
