When one of my best friends asked me to be in her wedding, I was thrilled. We grew up together so weddings were always a fun topic. From dresses to flowers to venues and themes, it’s no wonder that my friend knew EXACTLY what she wanted for her upcoming wedding.
The most iconic part of the wedding process is wedding dress shopping. What could be a gruesome process of watching the bride to be trying on countless dresses can actually be a fun event because I, Ashly Villamar, have YOU covered!
Introducing …drum roll please… The Wedding Dress Shopping Survival Kit! I have seen quite a few of these kits on Pinterest but none tailored to what I needed.
SO- I took the liberty of putting together my own:
- A neutral colored bag: You don’t want the bag to be a flashy color because you don’t want to take away from the Bride-to-be’s big moment. A bag with the Bride-to-be’s color is nice too!
- Facial Tissue: For all those happy tears when she’s says “Yes to the dress”.
- Snacks: Honestly, you don’t know how long the process will take. I skipped dinner for the 5pm appointment at David’s Bridal so snacks saved me until we had a break and I got some Panera Bread.
- Water bottle {not pictured} with Snapple or Crystal Lite To Go packets: Let’s face it. Water is sometimes boring and adding something can be fun.
- Mints: No one likes “snack”-y breath for those “She said Yes to the dress” pictures at the end of the day. Be kind to your friends. Have a mint.
- A hair tie: If you’re like me, wearing your hair down is great for pictures BUT it’s hot in East County. Tie your hair up while you’re waiting and let that mane go at the end. #WishIDidThat
- Fun signs: I found some awesome signs on from The Digi Sloth on Etsy. Isn’t her name awesome?! Just print, cut, hot glue {dries faster} a popsicle stick to back and you’re good to go.
The most important thing is to have fun, make your bride feel special and enjoy the process because these moments happen once in a lifetime {hopefully}.
Dedicated my “sweet” bestie, Brooke Martinez. Thank you for adding so much sweetness into my life and looking forward to creating lifelong memories together.
For your convenience, we included amazon links (which are affiliate links), however, you can get all these items at your local Target or drug store.
