Meet Amanda Hall-Sanchez, Mom + Owner, FIT4MOM La Mesa + Lake Murray
We are so grateful that Amanda shared her story with us…
“Hi, I’m Amanda, a proud Mom, wife, and the owner of Fit4Mom La Mesa & Lake Murray. We offer Mommy and me workouts as well as Mom only workouts (Stroller Strides, Stroller Barre + Mom only HIIT workouts). We meet by the playground for warm up and then head out to guide moms through circuits of exercises like squats, lunges, resistance band work, and power walking or jogging. We stop at different stations—think parks, grassy areas, lake view spots or shady spots—to focus on different muscle groups, and we ALWAYS sprinkle in fun for the kids, whether it’s bubbles, tickles, or singing their favorite songs. Moms get a great workout, kids have a blast, and everyone leaves feeling stronger, happier, and more connected. It’s a workout party for you and your little one!”

How did you get started with your current role?
As a new mom navigating the challenges of parenthood, I found solace, support, and a sense of belonging in this amazing community. I vividly remember attending my first boy band-themed class, welcomed by Katie’s warm embrace and a group of incredible moms who instantly made me feel like family.
What began as a quest for fitness evolved into a sanctuary of friendships, personal growth, and reclaiming my identity. I transformed from a sporadic attendee to someone who couldn’t get enough of the empowering environment. I found a new way to engage with Maggie while becoming a healthier me—I even lost 80lbs over 10 months!
What does “As Strong as the Mother Next to Me” mean to you?
As strong as the mother next to you” means that our strength is contagious! Many of us moms are navigating the waves of postpartum, and it’s important to recognize that we are all showing up in different ways—some days stronger than others, but always doing our best. It’s so important to accept each other for who we are in the moment, without judgment. At Fit4Mom, we meet you where you are, sharing ways to embrace your own motherhood journey—whether you’re just starting out, navigating the challenges of postpartum, or continuing to build strength.
What strategies do you use to stay connected?
There is NOTHING quite like “Word of Mom”! Another Moms recommendation is often like gold because they get it! We love to post samples of our classes to social media too.
How do you involve your children in your professional life, if at all?
I’m fortunate to be able to take my daughter to work with me every day, and it’s truly one of the best parts of my job. She gets to interact with other moms and their littles, which is valuable for her social development. Being able to work with such flexibility allows me to accommodate our family’s needs. It’s a balance that works for us! Plus, seeing my daughter grow and thrive in such a supportive environment is priceless!
Can you share an example of a collaboration with another mom that was particularly successful or fulfilling?
One collaboration that stands out was with Leah at Shop Good Spa, a fellow mom and entrepreneur, for our Sip N’ Shop event with Shop Good North Park. It was such a fun experience! We treated our amazing village to a much-needed night out with chair massages, a special shopping experience, and even skin analysis sessions, all while enjoying some rosé and living our best child-free evening lives. It was the perfect way to unwind, pamper ourselves, and connect with our mom friends. The energy was so positive, and it was a reminder of how powerful it is when women and moms come together to support each other—both personally and professionally! Through the support of community, we grow stronger together, and that’s the true power of motherhood.
How do you define strength in motherhood?
Strength in motherhood, to me, is about embracing the journey with authenticity and resilience. It’s about showing up for ourselves and our families every day, even when things are hard. At Fit4Mom, we realize that strength as a balance of physical, emotional, and mental wellness, and we believe that strength looks different for every mom. It’s about being real, accepting where we are, and lifting each other up in the process. Strength in motherhood is not just physical; it’s emotional, mental, and community-driven. It’s the support we give and receive, the self-care we make time for, and the way we rise up, no matter what.
How do you celebrate small victories in motherhood and business?
I’ve learned that celebrating the small victories—both in motherhood and business—is a MUST. Whether it’s getting through a tough day with more patience than I thought I had, or pulling off a successful class or event, I try to revel in those wins at the end of the day, scream into my pillow kind of thing! Haha!
Sometimes that celebration looks like a solo coffee run, a date night with my hubby, or jus placing my phone on “Do Not Disturb” for a chance to mentally check out and relax. Those small moments add up, and they remind me that progress is happening, even on the hardest days.
How do you think societal perceptions of motherhood have changed over the years?
“The world was built for men on the backs of women” Liz Tenety says it all.
How do you balance self-care with taking care of your family and business?
Since having my daughter, I’ve struggled with my mental health in ways I had never before, and working out has become one of the best tools for managing my anxiety. Every workout is what you make it, some days I’m in class for the workout and other days I’m there to socialize! It’s ALL become a key part of my routine for staying balanced.
How did you build your community of moms around you?
I started as a member of this community, connecting with other moms in such a very organic and raw way. When I took over the business, I was fortunate to have their support from the start. We’ve shared so many beautiful moments together—celebrating holidays, singing to our kids, playdates—but also leaned on each other through the tough times, like sleepless nights, missed milestones, and challenging appointments. As a special needs mom, I’ve at time wondered about my daughter’s future friendships and will she struggle, but these amazing women and their children have shown me time and time again there’s nothing to worry about. Every Mom deserves that!
How important is it to you to surround yourself with other moms professionally and personally?
My biggest piece of advice is to not be scared of “Do Not Disturb” mode on your phone! I also believe in striving to be 1% better every day—those little improvements really do add up over time, and eventually, you’ll look back and be amazed at how far you’ve come. So, don’t be too hard on yourself—give yourself grace, take it one step at a time, and remember, you’re doing amazing!
Do you have a non-profit or cause that you want us to know more about? And why are you so passionate about this?
We have Fire Wives in our village and we love supporting the local fire fighters!
What challenges do you face as a mother and businesswoman?
One of the most challenging parts of both motherhood and running a business has been battling imposter syndrome. I used to constantly question myself—“Who am I to be doing this?”—especially when things felt overwhelming or imperfect. But over time, through a lot of inner work (and yes, therapy—highly recommend!), I’ve grown to realize that I am the right person for this. I’m not doing it alone—I’m doing it alongside an incredible team and a supportive community, and that makes all the difference. I’ve learned that being a work-in-progress doesn’t make me unqualified; it makes me real. And I truly believe now that I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
Tell us about a challenging time in your business or in your role in motherhood and how you overcame it?
Working with a toddler is hard! Writing this article today! Haha we were inside, then outside, then back inside my daughter is 3 years old and just on the go all the time. It’s a fun ride but Mama is tired, we will sleep once again!
What are some of your favorite resources managing your business and/or home life that have saved you time?
Delegating what I can to my team is a great way to showcase our entire teams skills and creativity. I love seeing what everyone comes up with! Collaborating with La Mesa local businesses is always so helpful and inspiring too!
