San Diego Pediatrics’ team of health professionals is dedicated to providing children with quality medical care.

San Diego Pediatrics is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Our triage nurse is available during business hours to answer questions and assist in scheduling appointments. We have a physician on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for urgent matters that arise outside regular business hours for our families’ peace of mind. At times we share this responsibility with La Mesa Pediatrics, another private practice in the area.

Scheduling Appointments

San Diego Pediatrics recommends scheduling a new patient, well visit appointment. All new patient appointments are scheduled in half hour increments to allow providers adequate time to review your family’s medical history, examine your child thoroughly and address all questions and concerns. These appointments are scheduled in advance, so give us call today to reserve your appointment time.

Sick appointments are scheduled daily. If you feel your child may need to be seen, please contact our office as early in the day as possible. Leave a voicemail for our triage nurse, including your child’s name, date of birth, a brief description of child’s symptoms and a call back number. All calls will be returned as quickly as possible.

We cannot accommodate walk-ins. In most cases there is a very long wait or we will schedule an appointment for the next business day. For the comfort and convenience of you and your child, please call our office before coming in with a sick or injured child.

Waiting

For the health and well-being of our patients, we have two waiting areas. The Well Waiting Room is for routine physicals, injuries, and non-contagious follow up appointments. This waiting room can be accessed through the main lobby of our building. The Sick Waiting Room is for possible contagious conditions, such as vomiting, diarrhea, runny nose, cough, or rash. The Sick waiting room can be accessed from the back parking lot of our building. If there is any question as to which side you should go, please ask our triage nurse while scheduling your appointment or our receptionist upon arrival.

Insurance     San Diego Pediatrics accepts many insurance plans. If you are selecting or switching insurance plans and have questions, please call and speak with our billing department. Families are always encouraged to verify coverage and benefits with their insurance company directly.

Some insurance plans require the selection of a PCP (Primary Care Physician) or PCM (Primary Care Manager.) By selecting any one of our physicians, Dr. Joel Snyder, Dr. Rachel Gianfortune, or Dr. Rachel Abramson, as your child’s PCP or PCM, your child will be able to be seen by all providers at San Diego Pediatrics.

Your copay is due at the time of service. All other patient balances, including deductibles and shares of cost, will be billed to you after your insurance company has been billed.

Please be sure to bring your insurance card to every appointment. Please keep San Diego Pediatrics updated and informed of any changes to your child’s insurance coverage as soon as you learn of the change, including the addition of a secondary insurance policy. This will help us insure that insurance claims are submitted accurately and in a timely fashion, minimizing out-of-pocket costs for our patients.
