In 1982, with Del Mar Foundation in its infancy, Mayor Lou Terrell, in his role as a founding director of DMF, began working with an enthusiastic group of volunteers to plan the first-ever Summer Twilight Concerts. They were ambitious enough to plan six concerts (and build a stage!) for the inaugural Summer 1983 season – held in Seagrove Park because Powerhouse Park didn’t yet exist.

Now, more than four decades later, DMF is proud that the series created by our founders still brings families, friends and neighbors together to picnic, enjoy music, and take in our trademark ocean views and sunsets. We invite you to get your dancing shoes (or flip-flops) ready for four spectacular concerts this summer.
