Family Safety Day: Hanging with Heroes is a FREE, family-friendly event with one powerful mission: to help keep San Diego families safe—while having an unforgettable time. Meet the real-life heroes who serve and protect our community every day, from first responders to federal agents, plus surprise appearances from big-screen superheroes and beloved kids’ characters like Spider-Man, Bluey, Stitch, and more!
This day is packed with essential safety resources, hands-on learning, and fun for all ages. Families can explore CPR demos, cyber safety tips, fire and water safety, rattlesnake encounters from Ecovivarium’s Mobile Zoo, car seat checks by Safe Kids San Diego, and so much more. With over 100+ partners in attendance—from nonprofits to local health and wellness providers—you’ll walk away empowered with knowledge and support to help keep your family safe and thriving.

The SuperKids Zone 💥
The SuperKids Zone at Family Safety Day is packed with hands-on fun, a live DJ exciting encounters, and memorable experiences for the whole family! Kids will have the chance to meet 16–18 reptiles up close thanks to Ecovivarium’s Mobile Zoo, while bouncing between inflatable slides, obstacle courses, and arcade-style basketball from our amazing partners at Magic Jump Rentals and Hoop San Diego.
Plus, there’ll be arts, crafts, face painting, bubbles, and balloons to keep the creativity flowing and the smiles growing.

Grab some treats, snacks and explore food truck favorites and refreshments from Novo Brazil Brewpub.
Back to School Drive: 🍎
Families are encouraged to bring new school supplies to support our Back to School Drive benefitting the Boys & Girls Clubs—each donation earns you raffle tickets for the chance to win awesome prizes!
