Galbani Bella Vita Fest 

Galbani Bella Vita Fest returns for the 3rd annual Italian celebration in San Diego’s beautiful Little Italy neighborhood. Over 30 professional chalk artists will create masterpieces before your eyes on the pavement.

Chalking the streets began in Europe during the 16th century, Italy was the hub of the of the Madonnari (street artists). The Madonnari would congregate in front of cathedrals and in town squares, drawing the Madonna and other religious icons using chalk, coal and tile. Today, chalk art festivals are popular artistic events throughout the US and Europe, and artists travel from all over to showcase their amazing form of performance art. The art created is temporary, and is washed away after the event.
