Mountain Lions 101

Join Mountain Lion Foundation volunteer and mountain lion expert Robin Parks for an engaging presentation that offers a comprehensive introduction to mountain lions. This session will cover how to identify these animals in the wild, along with key insights into their biology, behaviors, and capabilities. Participants will hear both humorous and poignant stories of human–mountain lion encounters, while also exploring common myths and misconceptions to better understand the facts.

The presentation will include important safety guidelines for navigating mountain lion territory, effective deterrent strategies for keeping lions away from populated areas, and up-to-date information on California laws and California Department of Fish and Wildlife policies related to mountain lions.
