In case you missed our first event (or just want to re-live it), here is a recap of our amazing day!
Sunday, June 12th, the San Diego Moms Blog team and all our event guests met up at Mike Hess Brewing in North Park for our “Pre-Father’s Day Photo shoot”.
Upon arriving to the brewery, I peeked inside and realized that it was much bigger then the photos I saw online! The front of the brewery is almost completely open and it has a neat cat walk with the brewery equipment on either side. They were actively brewing while we were there! Then you walk into the tasting space and and it opens up with ample seating for adults, kids, and even our furry friends.
The gals who were pouring let us pretty much take over the space, so our photographer, Rebekka Payne went to work putting together our photo set. We had this amazing teepee from Teepee Mama to giveaway, so we wanted to use it as our main photo prop.
Rebekka had this amazing vision and brought it to life! I merely mentioned that we wanted a “camping theme” for the shoot, and what it ended up was simply amazing! She took this already beautiful teepee and made it look just like a scene from a magazine photo shoot.
We also fashioned a quick photo opp at the front of the brewery for our guests to have a little fun. Samjoco Celebrations provided us with a fun backdrop and some awesome props for a few fun photos! (I believe you can still snag a special discount if you visit their site!)
Not only did we have some amazing photos for our guests, but we also had some delicious munchines! The Cake Pop Shop , located in North Park, provided us with some smores flavored cake pops! Those ran out pretty quickly as you can imagine! With all the little ones running around, I knew they would be snatched up quick!
Also, I took my daughter for a walk down the street from Hess, where we picked up some pretzel puffs from the California Tap Room. The sweet couple that owns the place has an amazing set up at their shop. It’s super laid back and a great place to stop while you are out exploring North Park. The pretzels are to die for and the beer cheese is a perfect companion. We were chatting, and they mentioned that they just started serving beer!
I mean, beer + soft pretzels = heaven.
Then there were cupcakes! I’m not just talking any old cupcakes- I’m talking red velvet cupcakes that are as big as your face! We got two dozen given to us by Heaven Sent Desserts, who are also local to the North Park area.
We also had plenty of giveaways lined up from some of our other sponsors to give to our awesome dad’s.
- A perfect Father, Husband, Protector, Hero t-shirt from Ezra and Eli
- Plus some koozies!
- A centennial Zoo goodie bag
- A movie night themed party in a box from Samjoco
- Plus they gave us a goodie bag full of little toys for the kiddos.
And of course, the teepee! This was a big one, and the recipient of this prize was well deserved. Marisella did not want to come to this event with her mom and siblings. Her mom told us that they practically dragged her out. As a tween, she didn’t think she would have fun!!! Well, there ended up being plenty of kids for her to play with, and everyone had a wonderful time.
However, Marisella and her siblings lost their dad in afganistan not too long ago. I know it must have been really hard for her to come to a Father’s Day themed event not having her own dad to share it with, so you might understand why were so overjoyed that she won the teepee! The look on her face was priceless, and we knew that this event went exactly how we had hoped!
It was a fun experience to meet some of the families in our community, connect with them, and give them some free snacks and swag! We cannot wait for our next event, we hope to see you then!
