Did you know? FREE Craft Every Month at Home Depot!

As I posted this cute pic of my daughter building a Home Depot craft on my Instagram last month, one of the first comments was, “cool, I didn’t know Home Depot did this!”

We hadn’t gone for a few months because of summertime and moving, so we were glad to finally be back to building and crafting.

Home Depot does a workshop for a craft the first Saturday of every month. From 9-12, here’s what your child can expect.

  1. For the newbie, they will get their very own orange Home Depot apron!!! My kids love bringing theirs every month, and it also actually does the job of a real apron, by protecting their clothes from paint.
  2. The monthly craft. My kids have done fire trucks, piggy banks, mini buildings, chalk boards, and more!home depot craft
  3. They will follow the directions for the craft, hammering (with your help) and painting and having a ton of fun putting it together.
  4. After the craft is complete, you can grab them a pin for their apron, and even a certificate of completion if you wish!

My kids look forward to this, as it’s really the only time I let them go to town with a hammer. No one gets hurt, and they can learn some fine motor skills in the process.

There are also free crafts at Lakeshore Learning! Every Saturday from 11am-3pm.

Michaels has sometimes free or $2 crafts to choose from. Check their calendar for their classes and workshops.

Lowes Build and Grow workshops require pre-registration, but they are just as fun as the Home Depot crafts and are on select Saturdays.
