Technology Camps

When school is out, camp is in! Keep your child’s mind active and engaged during school breaks this spring and summer and check out some of the technology-based camps available and enrolling now.

Included in our SDMB Technology category are camps focused around (but not limited to) coding, game developers, robotics engineers, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math), video and media. Give your child the opportunity to enter the science and tech fields and gain hands-on experience with trained professionals.

Inspiration for STEM careers begins in the lab, the classroom, behind the camera, and behind the microscope. Has your child expressed an interest in topics including astrology and biology? This is the right place to begin your search for the perfect break activity.

A special thanks to our Summer Camp Presenting Sponsor iD Tech and our Premier Sponsor Hands on Technology Education for making this guide a true resource for our families!

Entrepreneurship & more!

Although technology can be complex in it’s most advanced form, Hands-On Technology believes that the building blocks of Mobile Technology (e.g. smartphones, tablets, etc.) are often concepts that are grasped easier by youth than adults!

Technology Adventure Camps are a great opportunity for students to gain extended exposure to innovative, technology trends while also building core fundamentals in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering.

Camps Locations are available throughout San Diego including Carmel Valley, Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Point Loma, Kearney Mesa, UTC, City Heights, 4S-Ranch & Linda Vista.

The Sally Ride Science Junior Academy summer program offers hands-on science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) workshops for all students entering 4th-12th grade in 2019-2020. During these workshops, students assume the roles of space explorer, oceanographer, engineer, computer scientist, and more as they immerse themselves in hands-on projects. Top-notch STEAM instructors lead these workshops, serving as both teachers and role models.

big data summer camp

In the Data Science Summer Camp for High School Students, participants will learn the basic math, visualization and methods behind data science and will work on team projects with classmates using real life examples. Over the course of the week, the content will build in complexity and difficulty, and will include strategies for data visualization and model development and evaluation. No programming experience or knowledge is required. Additionally, invited guest from academia and industry will give presentations to expose the students to various data science application domains.

A perfect way for students to learn valuable, real-world technology skills through fun and engaging projects. Our week-long Summer Camps include Engineering with LEGO® gears and motors, Robotics with LEGO EV3® and WeDo®, Programming with Java and Python, and Game Coding with Scratch®.TechKnowHow® has been teaching tech skills to students since 1994.
Our program recently received awards from parents including: Best Technology Camp, Best Technology School or Program, and Best Math or Science Support.

CodeREV Kids was born out of a desire to fill a need in education, a need to provide a true, comprehensive technology education in a fun, stress-free environment. Our STEM focused courses and tech camps provide the basis for a much deeper education in technology than what students receive at their schools. This is because our instructors are all both industry tested STEM and computer programming professionals, and because these instructors have gained a wealth of teaching experience to kids in STEM, Technology, and Coding in various formats.

Media Arts Center

During the weeklong summer camps, kids ages 7-14 get their creative juices flowing and collaborate to create amazing original movies. Skills learned include: how to operate a camera, how to navigate programs like iMovie, GarageBand, & iStop Motion, and how to create a movie from start to finish.
