No idea what to get Dad for Father’s Day?
No need to stress. Here are four easy craft ideas you can do with your kids and Father’s Day gift suggestions that go with them!
To see these crafts in action, check out this video of myself, my husband and baby on KUSI news! We had an absolute blast!
Here are the crafts we did:
Craft #1 oFISHially the Best Dad
Get a cheap plastic tackle bin and fill with candy Swedish Fish and gummy worms. Draw a card that says, “You are oFISHially the Best Dad.” I googled “fishing coloring page” and printed out the image, colored it with colored pencils and glued it to construction paper. If your kids are old enough to draw, they can do the artwork.
The craft ties to gifting your dad a fishing outing and all the gear he needs!
In doing some research, I discovered Squidco in San Diego has everything you need for a fun day of fishing AND they have an amazing value-added gift certificate deal going on the day before Father’s Day! Even if you can’t make it to the store on June 16, you can call ahead and order a gift certificate and they’ll give you the bonus gift certificates and clothing. You can find more info on their website squidcofishing.com.
Craft #2 Following in Daddy’s Footsteps
Grab dad’s shoe and use washable paint to stamp a footprint on paper. Return his shoe with the paint washed off so he never knows. Then have your child’s footprint go inside of it.
This gift ties with gifting dad a family hike! For those on a budget, this gift doesn’t cost a thing and is so meaningful. You can also take a picture from your hike and then frame the photo side by side with the footprints for a keepsake that will last forever.

Craft #3 Love Your Lil’ Peanut
Make a card that says Happy Father’s Day and attach a bag of Peanut M&M’s. Write “Love, Your Lil’ Peanut.”
This gift ties with treating dad to a movie night which you can do at home, or go out to the movies.
Craft #4 Daddy’s Grilling Partner
Draw a grill on a piece of paper and using washable paint to place your child or children’s handprints as the flames. I suggest using orange and red paint so it has multicolored “flames.” I used Crayola’s washable kids paint for all the crafts that I bought at Michael’s.
This craft can be tied to having a picnic/grill out together, or if you want to go big, buy dad a new BBQ for Father’s Day!
All of these work great for gifting to grandfathers as well on Father’s Day!
