Top 10 Gifts for a Newly Pregnant Friend

0

Everyone is pregnant! I feel like every time I get the pregnancy news from a friend, I wish I had written down my favorite baby gifts when I was pregnant. So here is my top 10 list of gifts for a newly pregnant friend. They’ll think you’re the sweetest…

    1. Pregnancy Book
We all get the fun apps on our phones comparing the size of our baby to a fruit, but if you’re old school like me then you like an actual, physical book. I also love scrapbooking! So by getting a book dedicated to my pregnancy, I can fill it with fun tidbits or pictures as I go and then it becomes a keepsake for me and my child.
    2. Pregnancy Pops
I have been buying these for all of my newly pregnant friends lately to help the endless nausea of the first trimester. The key ingredient is the 10 mg of vitamin B6, which is a natural way to relieve nausea. They offer a variety of flavors too, which just like a hard candy, can help focus your mind (and stomach) on something other than the queasiness.

    3. Mommee Coffee
Mommee Coffee is a coffee created just for moms who are pregnant or breastfeeding because they offer low caffeine options (decaf, quarter caf, half caf, and full caf). So instead of cutting coffee out completely, you can still have a cup or two of coffee in the morning. I drank half caf my entire pregnancy. Plus it’s organic, low-acid and
decaffeinated by water processing (no chemicals)  -all that good stuff for newly preggo ladies!Mommee Coffee
    4. Belly Wedge
This is one a first-time pregnant woman definitely won’t know about. It’s just one of those gifts you might not buy yourself, but if you have it you’ll use it and love it. It relieves the pressure of the belly (later in pregnancy) when lying on your side in bed. I LOVED mine and it got a lot of use in both pregnancies!

    5. Swaddle Blankets
Another great gift for a newborn baby. You really can’t have enough of these soft, muslin blankets! They are great for swaddling, burping, covering up, lying on the floor, etc. And they will grow to be your child’s favorite blankies as they become toddlers.
    6. Wubbanub Pacifier
This isn’t necessarily for mom, but it’s one of the best gifts you can give a mom for their newborn baby! I swear by these pacifiers because the little animal keeps the pacifier weighted on the baby’s chest, so when it pops out it doesn’t roll on the floor. And as they get bigger, they can easily grab in the dark crib at night and get right back to sleep. And they have so many cute animals to choose from! Wubbanub
    7. Pregnant Stretch Leggings
You can’t have enough leggings while pregnant! Guaranteed to be a comfy favorite for your friend. Pick a color that is dark and can go with a lot of outfits, rather than some crazy pattern. Plus the darker color helps cover up the extra weight and sweat a bit better. 😉
    8. Funny T-Shirt
If you’ve got a friend who is so into being pregnant (that was me!), then she’ll love a funny shirt to show off that growing bump! My favorite 90’s throwback shirt says Oh My God Becky, Look at This Bump” across the belly. And so many other creative and fun ones out there!Oh My God Becky, Look at This Bump
    9. Prenatal Nutrition Book
There are so many rules to understand when pregnant: what to eat, what not to eat, helping with baby’s development, helping with nausea, etc. It can be overwhelming! Find a simple and easy to read nutrition book, like The Whole 9 Months, for your friend and maybe offer to help cook a recipe for her!
    10. Old Navy Gift Card
You get a lot for your money with maternity clothes at Old Navy. Great styles, simple designs, and you can even shot by trimester. They offer so much for so little! Your friend will have so much fun shopping for a few new outfits for work, something that will make her feel comfortable in her new body type.
