Safety, Space and Style—The 2019 Chevy Blazer Has it All!

0

Two weeks ago, I partnered with Chevrolet to be a part of the launch of their 2019 Chevy Blazer crossover SUV. Off I went on a two day road trip from San Diego to Laguna Beach with my BFF and fellow mother (of three), Cece. Above, we created this fun video to recap the experience. It was the perfect 48-hour getaway to recharge from my day to day schedule of juggling my baby girl and my businesses.

Blazer by the Beach Getaway

I’m not going to lie–we were absolutely spoiled from hour one of our getaway. Chevrolet hand-delivered our shiny new Blazer, with the incredibly informative sales associate reviewing all of the SUV’s amazing amenities. And let me tell you, Chevrolet did not skimp on any luxury features in this SUV. From the sound system, to the navigation, to the lane assist, we could not wait to get this bad boy on the road for our trip!

If you are in the market for a new family car, you may want to take a look at the new 2019 Chevy Blazer. It offers the space we need, the style we yearn for and has a new level of safety features that I didn’t even know could exist. Seriously the PERFECT car for any family.

As we made our way up the Pacific Coast Highway, we took in the gorgeous ocean views and sang our hearts out. Once we reached our hotel, I checked our gas tank to find we had only used a quarter of a tank! With an impressive 25-27 miles per gallon on the highway, we barely made a dent in our fuel levels; an incredibly nice surprise.

A Hidden Gem

Our accommodations were at the beautiful boutique Hotel Joaquin, a brand new, petite resort nestled above Shaw’s Cove. After our two nights here, I can confidently say that this boutique resort is an absolute hidden gem set in plain sight along the Pacific’s rich coastline. From their savory, decadent seafood dishes at the in-house restaurant Saline, to the delicious poolside drinks offered, your taste buds will beg you for more.

Now that the glitz and gluttony of our trip has been addressed, let’s get serious. When thinking about which car or SUV you want to purchase for your family I would like to think that safety would be the number one focus, followed by style, color, style, and luxury add-ons.

I want to take several moments to tip my hat to Chevrolet when it comes to the safety features that are standard in every 2019 Chevy Blazer. Some of the features include Teen Driver Safety technology, Rear-Seat reminder, Keyless Open/Start, Apple Carplay/Android Auto, along with oodles of USB ports for all your electronics. There’s additional safety features available on Premier and RS trims including Forward Automatic Breaking and Lane Keep Assist. This mid-size SUV was extremely easy to drive; agile handling coupled with the upgraded entertainment system and spacious enough to seat 5 more than comfortably. Its sleek, sporty design is an aesthetic both parents and teenagers can agree on.

Chevrolet Teen Driver Technology

But what I really want to share with you is more information on Chevrolet Teen Driver Technology, an available built-in system that helps you coach your new driver — even when you’re not there. Yes, you heard me right, an available built-in system that helps you coach your new driver — even when you’re not there. For all you parents with kids who are about to start driving or who are new drivers, this is a game-changer. Here are some terrifying but very real statistics:

  • Only 61% of high school students wear seat belts when riding with someone else;
  • Teens are more likely than any other age group to speed;
  • And about 93% of teen drivers play loud, distracting music when behind the wheel.

To combat this, Chevrolet has created amazing, cutting-edge technology to give parents more control, teaching opportunities, and safeguarding measures for their loved ones.

Some of the Teen Driver Technology includes:

  • Ability to set audible and visual warnings when the vehicle is traveling over a pre-selected speed.
  • Ability to set a speed limit that restricts the maximum vehicle speed to 85 miles per hour.
  • Capability to set limits on audio volume.
  • Seat belt audio mute feature automatically mutes the sound system until the driver and front passenger are wearing their seat belts.
  • A teen driver in-vehicle report card, the industry’s first and only in-vehicle report card that is sent to the parents after your teenager has hit the streets. This makes it easy to track your teen’s driving performance.

The 2019 Chevy Blazer takes all the guesswork out of your child’s driving performance. It allows concrete evidence on weak areas that need more awareness and improvement. I don’t know about you, but once Kaia is able to drive, this will be the first car I look to. The safety (and sass) I felt during my own weekend trip, coupled with this new technology, makes it a clear leader within any midsize SUV arena. I recommend all Moms and Dads take a serious look at the 2019 Chevy Blazer for their next SUV, with its incredible safety features at the forefront of your peace of mind.

This post is in partnership with Chevy, but as always, all thoughts included are 100% my own.
