Hotel del Coronado Historic Walking Tour – Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM. A 75 minute walking tour of the famous historic Hotel del Coronado, led by docents from the Coronado Historical Association. $20 for adults, children 12 and under free. Guided Nature Walk – Every Saturday from 10 – 11 AM at San Elijo Lagoon Nature Center, 2710 Manchester Avenue. Also, join your nature guides on the 2nd Saturday of every month, at 9 am for a two hour tour, exploring the flora, fauna and history of San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve. www.sanelijo.org.

Free Organ Concerts in Balboa Park – Every Sunday from 2 – 3 PM you can enjoy a free outdoor organ concert at Spreckels Pavilion, a beautiful outdoor pipe organ in San Diego Balboa Park . One of the free unique San Diego events.

IMAX movie – Daily at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park San Diego, California. Enjoy an IMAX film at this great theater, or check out our ideas for free and cheap movies!

Sea Life Aquarium – Watch the jellyfish and more at SEA LIFE Aquarium in Carlsbad for some interactive fun for the entire family. Sea Life Aquarium

Sea World Water Park – Summer is time for a water park. Enjoy a fun summer day at Sea World Aquatica Water Park.

San Diego County Fair 2016 – June 3 to July 4th 2016 at the Del Mar San Diego Fairgrounds (Interstate 5 at Via de la Valle). More San Diego family fun with concerts, flowers, rides, exhibits and really unique food at the San Diego County Fair. This is one of the best of the summer San Diego events! June is a great time to go, especially early June before the crowds hit. Not open on some Mondays and Tuesdays.

2016 San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon – Jun 3 to 5 2016 in San Diego, California. Join in the fun for the annual San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon.  http://runrocknroll.competitor.com/san-diego/

Encinitas Wine Festival – Jun 4th 2016 at the San Diego Botanic Garden from 5 – 8 PM Sample fine wines and beverages from around the world as you explore the San Diego Botanic Garden. Local restaurants will offer a taste sampling of their best dishes and desserts. This event sells out early so buy your tickets as early as possible. www.encinitaswinefestival.com

SURFRIDER BEACH CLEANUP: OCEANSIDE- The first Saturday of each Month, starting Saturday, June 4th, 9AM-11AM, the Surfrider Foundation hosts a beach cleanup. Supplies will be provided, but please bring your own reusable bag, bucket, and work gloves if you have them. Meet on the north side Oceanside pier. (Mission Avenue and Pacific Street, Oceanside, 92054)

SUMMER WORLD MUSIC SERIES 2016- The Center for World Music presents the 2016 Summer World Music Series, highlighting local world musicians performing music from Zimbabwe, strings of southeast Mexico, and vocal harmonies of the Balkans and beyond. Carlsbad Beach Fest – Saturday, June 13 2016 from 8 AM to 3 PM at Tamarack Beach in Carlsbad. Low tide beach run blast starting at Tamarack beach, ocean and beach cleanup, entertainment, sand sculpture art, beach sport competition, and lots of fun on the beach. carlsbadbeachfest.com.

Green Flash Concert Series – June 15th and 4 other dates through the summer. Monthly adult only (ages 21 and up) summer concert series on the Tide Pool Plaza at Birch Aquarium at Scripps. La Jolla Festival of the Arts – June 11th to 12th 2016 at Warren Field in La Jolla from 10 AM to 6 PM (5 PM on Sunday). $10 per person, active military free. Featuring fine artists showing water colors, oil paintings, sculptures, fine jewelry, photography and more. www.lajollaartfestival.org

Fairy Festival – Saturday June 18th 2016 from 10 AM – 4 PM at San Diego Botanic Garden in the Hamilton Children Garden, 230 Quail Gardens Drive, Encinitas CA. If you have girls, you won’t want to miss this. Have them wear their fairy costumes, and celebrate Summer with crafts, the Fairy Queen, and the Wishing Bush. Crafts, fairy parade, stories and free play.

Kayak at La Jolla Shores – Try kayaking on Father’s Day weekend June 18th to 19th, 2016, or choose another favorite weekend. June is a great time to kayak at La Jolla Shores to see the Sea Caves, marine life, and leopard sharks. For more information see La Jolla Kayaking

Summer Solstice in Del Mar Thursday Jun 23 2016 from 5 – 8PM at Powerhouse Park, 1658 Coast Boulevard, Del Mar, CA. Enjoy some of the best food, wine and beer with great entertainment and sunset views. $75 tickets.delmarmainstreet.com.

Carlsbad TGIF Jazz in the Parks – June 24th through August 19th, 2016 on Friday evenings from 6 – 8 PM. Free outdoor summer concerts at various locations in Carlsbad, CA. For the TGIF Carlsbad Jazz in the Parks schedule see www.carlsbadca.gov.

Iron Championships Outrigger Canoe Racing – June 25th, 2016. This yearly event is fun for the entire family. Canoe racing has become one of the most competitive water sports along the west cost. It is open in all divisions for both men and women. It is truly a co-ed water sport. The race begins early Saturday morning and ends in the late afternoon.

Weekend Beach Walks – Saturday and Sunday morning Jun 25th and 26th from 6 – 9 AM will be a nice time to walk some of the local beaches at moderate low tides. Bring along a picnic breakfast or your morning coffee to enjoy some quiet time at the beach.

2016 Ocean Beach Street Fair and Chili Cookoff – Saturday June 25th, 2016 from 10 AM to 8 PM at Ocean Beach. Free one day festival with live music and entertainment, and of course a chili cookoff. A popular yearly community tradition with 5 music stages, art, food, and fun for the all ages.

Julian Gold Rush Days – weekend activity June 25th to 26th, 2016. 10 AM – 4 PM in the historic town of Julian. Enjoy an old-fashioned picnic, gold mine tours, games, and more.

Taste of Gas Lamp – Sunday June 26th, 2016. Enjoy this downtown SD urban food safari as you taste interesting dishes in the historic Gaslamp Quarter. Includes a self-guided walking tour and special beer tasting garden. www.gaslamplocal.com.

Taste of Adams Avenue- Sunday, June 26th, from 11AM – 3PM. This gastronomic trek will feature 40 restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, wine bars and unique eateries in one of San Diego’s hottest and historic neighborhoods. Food lovers can access their favorite restaurants by foot, bike, or by complimentary trolley service available along Adams Avenue.
