What better way to start off the month of February than introducing “Friday Favorites” with Cookies and Beer! It’s cookie season for the Girl Scouts so I joined fellow San Diego Moms Blog contributors and San Diego Beer Mom members Elisa, Lisa and Jyssica to do the hard work of tasting the Girl Scout Cookie and Beer Pairing. Elisa, the admin of SD Beer Moms had said “I love my job!” I totally agree with her and we had a blast doing this segment!!
The pairing was hand picked by Steve K. who is the Lead Tour Guide and Beer Manager of Green Flash Brewery in San Diego, Ca! He helped pair our favorite Girl Scout Cookies with our Favorite Green Flash Beers. Check out our live video review below to see which pairing were our faves.
My personal favorite was the Smores Girl Scout Cookie with their Cacow Stout. It took me back to roasting Marshmallows Smores over a campfire with the Chocolate Smoky taste of the Cacow it was an excellent contrast of flavors! I wanted to share some ideas to host your own beer and cookie tasting party.
First is location! Green Flash Brewery is perfect spot to gather as it offers open tasting rooms to hang out in. We have partnered with them more then once for events- check out our Pre-Father’s Day Photo Shoot event from last year! They also have an outdoor patio area with an on site food truck and plenty of tables to soak up our beautiful San Diego Weather.
Its a true family and dog friendly environment. In fact SD Beer Mom Noelle and her kids joined us during the pairing; her kids had fun playing and even brought some coloring toys to keep busy with.
For personal touches for your tasting– I made a San Diego Beer Moms Tasting Cards to organize the cookies & beer with, it includes is a small section to write your notes on.

Another idea is to add some fun decorations. Paper + Paste Design Co. make the coolest custom paper props! They have a beer garland that would add that sparkle to the party. There are so many ways to make this Fun and Creative! The list below are the pairings we had at Green Flash Brewery and is highly recommended for you to try! Hi! My name is Sherryl- I was raised in Southeast San Diego, CA. I am a Mama to a blended family of 4 children! I have two- Teens Orion and Olivia, My little girl Maddy and my Stepson Chase. Newly Married to my husband Justin- when he’s not cooking something up at Karl Strauss, he is our personal Chef at home!
